Workshops

I have run one-off workshops and workshop series for organisations including the Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre, the Peter Cowan Writers Centre, the Centre for Stories, the Australian Short Story Festival and local government arts programs. Topics include novel writing, short story writing, detail, characterisation and editing.

Manuscript assessments

I have provided detailed assessments for a number of emerging fiction writers, identifying the strengths of their current work and suggesting areas for improvement with the goal of publication (both traditional and independent).

This includes both substantial/structural editing recommendations and copyediting/proofreading changes if required.

Mentoring

For those in the process of writing a full-length fiction manuscript, I can provide ongoing advice and feedback through the development of a draft.
